On 13th May 2017 a few of us enjoyed a day out on a member's narrow-boat. Even here music was not forgotten.
On 7th May 2017 some of us sang Mozart's requiem with the Really Big Chorus in the Royal Albert Hall. Three of the Jubilate ladies are pictured here relaxing between rehearsal and performance.
The Jubilate Choir's Spring Concert on 8th April 2017 was at St Matthews Church. The programme included Rutter's Requiem and Mendelssohn's Hear my prayer. The concert was conducted by Janet Haney and other participants were Sally Silver (soprano), Olivia Clayton (cello), Jonathan Eyre (organ), Olivia Fraser (oboe), Gabriella Jones (harp), Elizabeth Marr (flute) and members of the London International Sinfonia.

Each December Jubilate Choir spends an hour singing at the Whitgift Centre, Croydon, in aid of charity. In 2015 we continued to support Croydon Visual (Croydon Voluntary Association for the Blind) by entertaining shoppers with Christmas songs and carols. They gave generously and we would like to thank them for their support.

Choir members sang at the Croydon Heritage Festival in June 2015. Conducted by Janet Haney, our repertoire featured songs from around the world - Sweden, Pakistan, Belgium and Iceland. The last testing our grasp of Icelandic pronunciation! Apparently rolling your 'r's is essential.
In April 2015 some choir members joined Beckenham Chorale for a workshop led by Brian Kay, BBC radio and TV music presenter, former King's Singer and conductor of The Really Big Chorus. The music included pieces by Brahms, Bruckner, Elgar, Mozart, Handel and Parry. Quite a challenge! However all done in a very positive and supportive atmosphere created by Brian Kay.
On a boiling hot day in July 2013 a group of us, accompanied and led by Janet Haney performed songs from the British Isles at The Dizzy's Family Festival in the Croydon Road Recreation Ground, Beckenham. This was enthusiastically applauded by the audience.
In July 2013 the chance to sing Verdi's Requiem as part of The Really Big Chorus at the Albert Hall was taken up by some members of the choir who enjoyed the musical challenge and the day out together.
Jubilate members took part in the recordings of the BBC's Songs of Praise programmes at Christ Church, Spitalfields, which were broadcast on 29th September and 8th December 2013 and 30th March 2014. Aled Jones interviewed a guest for each programme - Paul Jones, Tony Christie and Candi Staton. Again, rather a hot experience as it was July and for the December broadcast we found ourselves singing God Rest You Merry Gentlemen!
