Janet Haney, our Musical Director

Janet Haney musical Director of the Jubilate Choir

Janet Haney was born in Dudley, graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire, and continued postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As an accompanist she has performed at many of Britain's Concert Halls including St. David's Hall, Cardiff, the Symphony Hall, Birmingham and Cadogan Hall, London.

Internationally she has given recitals in Spain, Russia, Qatar, New York and Reykjavík. She is accompanist on the album Silent Noon, released in April 2012 with the Opera Babes.

She has worked as a repetiteur/coach at Wexford Festival Opera, Welsh National Opera, English Touring Opera, Harvey Goldsmith Productions, European Chamber Opera, Travelling Opera, Opera Project, Longborough Festival Opera and Opera Holland Park. She has regularly coached at Dennis O'Neill's Cardiff International Academy of Voice, the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation and the Söngskólinn (singing academy) in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Internationally she has worked on opera productions in South Africa, Iceland, Japan and the Philippines both as repetiteur and vocal coach.

In 2013 Janet returned to Wexford as Music Director for their production of Sleeping Queen by Balfe and repetiteur for Massenet's Thérèse and La Navarraise. Future plans include a return visit to Iceland to be Music Director for opera scenes at the Söngskólinn and vocal coaching at the Royal College of Music.
